Rupali is a primary school graduate and wife of a auto rickshaw driver. She has 2 daughters and a son (18). She used to work in a local NGO as health worker. She was living a relatively trouble free life in Bangladesh with regular income. Rupali contested in local election and took a big amount of loan for election campaign. After the election she could not repay the loan, therefore decided to migrate to earn and repay the loan. She spent 150,000 BDT to go to Dubai. She took loan for her migration. Rupali stayed in Dubai for 2 years. She did not receive any copy of her job contract prior to departure. She received 22 thousand BDT (about 961 dirham) as salary. Rupali was fortunate to have a good employer. The employer's wife used to help her in housework. She was not allowed to go anywhere alone. She visited some places in Dubai with her employer. Her employer paid for her ticket when she returned. Rupali is trying to remigrate to Saudi Arabia for replay her outstanding loans.
